CM visits Skill Training Centre for Women – 130 Women enrolled under Advance Technology of Cutting Tailoring
Pats District Administration for this noble venture aimed at empowering women
Announces to include it in the “Punjab State Skill Development Mission”
Ferozepur, April 19, 2015: Impressed by the spectacular performance of the skill training centre being run by the district administration to impart skill training to the women in border district of Ferozepur, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today announced to extend fulsome support and cooperation for running this centre.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Er. DPS Kharbanda, today visited the centre run in the ITI here today during his visit to the city and had detailed interactions with the students getting training in this centre. Underscoring the need for imparting skill training to the youth of border districts, he said that it was the need of the hour to make the youth of these far flung areas self reliant by providing them opportunities of gainful employment. Mr. Badal said that the state government has planned to open a number of skill centers in the state that would impart world class skill training to the youth in various sectors so as to enable them to earn their livelihood besides producing a pool of skilled manpower so as to cope up with the need of industry of the state.
The Chief Minister said that these centre, to be established under the Punjab State Skill Development Mission, would act as a game changer by changing the fortunes of the youth of the state. Giving his nod for including this center under the mission, Mr. Badal said that it would help in their empowerment thereby enabling them to lead a life with pride and dignity.
