Clash between two factions on filing nominations for Panchayat polls

Ferozepur, December 18, 2018:  Incidents of the clash between two groups on filing nominations for panchayat polls to be held on December 30  has been reported on the second day in Mamdot in the Govt school premises set up as nomination centre and Ghall Khurd blocks.

At Mamdot, the police have to resort to mild lathi charge when stone-pelting started and few people sustained injuries.  The candidate from village Gajniwala Dhudia alleged for not allowing to file the papers.

There was also a clash between the two groups over the minor issue, in which some sustained minor injuries and breaking of window panes of the car, alleged Karaz Singh.  He said after the incident, one group fled away from the scene.  Pritam Singh police official investigating into the matter said on the statement of Karaz Singh, 6-7 unidentified persons have been booked.

DSP Lakhbir Singh reached the spot and said, the situation was however taken under control now as some unscrupulous unidentified persons have tried to mess the situation.
