Chief Minister Punjab gives ‘green signal’ to various development works in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 2, 2015: Chief Minister Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal had given ‘green signal’ to various development projects for Ferozepur at a meeting held at Punjab Bhawan on Thursday where BJP Chief Punjab, Secretaries and heads of various departments were also present.
Kamal Sharma said, the Chief Minister had directed the Deputy Commissioner to expedite formalities for the various ongoing development works in hand and in future plan on priority basis.
The projects include 20 kms bypass at a cost of Rs.35 crore which will give a relief to the traffic on Kandla (Gujarat) to Jammu Kashmir, widening of Ferozepur-Mallanwala from 5.50 m to 7 m at accost of Rs.30.82 km, opening of meritorious schools costing Rs.26 crore, construction of C-Pite building for free training for recruitment in army and motivating the children for service to nation at a cost of Rs.7.50 crore
Kamal Sharma informed that Astroturf at a cost of Rs.4.75 crore is under construction. Besides CM has ordered for completing the formalities of auditorium within a weeks time. Approval for Rowing Club at village Ali Ke has already been granted.
Orders for completion for bridge at village Bandala by June 2017, were also given to the concerned department and providing funds for construction of road from Hussainiwala to Gatti Rajo Ki at a cost of Rs.5.50 crore.
Approval for Rail Under Bridge(RUB) at Basti Tanka Wali at a cost of Rs.7 crore- connecting Ferozepur City and Cantt – was given and concerned Secretary was directed to coordinate for further formalities in liaison with the Railway authorities. It was also one of the demands of the citizens as most of the time the railway track on this route is closed as it comes under the shunting portion.
Directions for immediate start of Light and Sound Project at Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala at a cost of Rs.5.50 crore were also given by taking up the matterwith Government of India.
Another provision in the project of vacant land of Civil Hospital for keeping a basement or high level parking by the PUDA was brought to the notice of Chief Minister by the Punjab BJP Chief to overcome the problem of congestion due to heavy traffic.
The CM also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, to expedite formalities for handing over the possession of the site to the PGI authorities so that construction could be started soon. The CM also assured BJP president Kamal Sharma that all ongoing development projects would be completed on a priority basis.
