BSF thwarts another attempt of smuggling, seizes herein, US currency in Ferozepur Sector
Ferozepur January 18, 2020: On 17 Jan 2020 alert Border Security Force troops seized 06 Packets of contraband (Weight Approx- 6.090 Kgs) suspected to be Heroin along with 84 US Dollar Notes (in the denomination of 50 Dollars each) in the area of responsibility of Ferozepur Sector.
On 17 Jan 2020 at about 0430 hrs, during wee hours, the BSF troops on duty heard a suspicious sound near Border Security Fence and got alerted. Therefore, BSF troops promptly rushed towards the spot but nothing could be observed. Later, to negate the misadventure of Pak smugglers/ANEs Border Security Force troops challenged the suspects but suspected smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of dense fog. Later, during search 06 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin (Total weight approx. 6.090 Kg) along with 84 US Dollar Notes (in the denomination of 50 Dollars each) were recovered from the spot.
Vigilant troops of Border Security Force once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of contraband items into India. During the year 2020, BSF has effected under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border:- Heroin: 28.307 Kgs (including today’s seizure of approx. 6.090 Kgs) Indian Border Crosser Apprehended: 09 Pak Intruder: 01 Foreign Currency: 84 US Dollar Notes (in the denomination of 50 Dollars each )
