BSF seizes heroin in BOP Shameke Ex-105 Bn BSF Sector Ferozepur on Punjab Border

Ferozepur, November 19, 2015: Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 02 packets (approx 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be Heroin on Punjab Border on 19^thNovember’ 2015 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Shameke, Ex- 105Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to high grown paddy crops and ongoing harvesting season, Shri Anil Paliwal, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Shri R K Thapa, DIG, SHQ BSF Ferozepurdirected Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of smugglers/Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers during this harvesting season.

On 19^th Nov’ 2015 at about 0330 hrs, some suspicious movement of miscreants was observed ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Shameke, Ex- 105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. Based on this observation, on 19^th Nov’ 2015 a special search operation was carried out by troops ahead of Border Security Fence in area of responsibility of Border Out Post Shameke, Ex- 105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. At about 0730 hrs, during search of the area, the BSF search party recovered 02 packets (approx 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be Heroin.

The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India. In continuing with its drive against heightened activities of smugglers/Anti-National Elements, BSF has effected  under mentioned seizures on Punjab Border during the year 2015 :-
