BSF recovers socks containing heroin in Ferozepur’s border village
January, 19, 2024: The Border Security Force recovered socks containing heroin, during morning hours, when BSF troops were engaged in area domination patrolling and a search operation on the Indian side of the border fence, identified a suspicious object at approximately 09:35 am in a farming field near Village- Lal Singh ke Jhugge in Ferozepur district. Upon inspection, it was found to be a sock containing two packets of suspected heroin (gross weight – approximately 2 kgs).
Following an extensive search of the area, at approximately 04:30 pm, another sock containing one packet of suspected heroin (gross weight – approximately 1 kg) was discovered. The narcotics were securely wrapped with yellow adhesive tape.
The total recovery amounts to three packets (gross weight – approximately 3 kgs.
This incident marks another successful interception of a narcotics smuggling attempt by the alert BSF troops.
