BSF apprehends Indian smuggler with heroin on Ferozepur Border

Ferozepur, March 13, 2025: In a major success against cross-border narcotics smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended an Indian narco-smuggler along with a significant quantity of heroin in the border area of Ferozepur district.

Acting on credible intelligence of BSF intelligence wing, BSF troops swiftly launched a search operation. At about 11:50 pm on 12 Mar 2025, the troops succeeded in apprehending one Indian narco-smuggler along with 05 packets of suspected heroin (Gross weight-2.670 Kgs). The recovered packets were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, and nylon threads with illumination strips were found attached to each packet.

The operation was conducted in the area near village Lakha Singh Wala of district Ferozepur. The apprehended smuggler is a resident of village Behdi, distt Ferozepur. The smuggler has been handed over to the local police for further interrogation to unfold his links to Pak-based narco-smuggling network and local associates.

Earlier, in the evening of 12th Mar’ 2025, a joint operation of BSF with Punjab Police had led to the recovery of 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 532 Grams) from a farming field adjacent to village Sankatra of distt – Tarn Taran.

The successful claimed seizure of narcotics underscores the true professional acumen, keen vigilance and unwavering commitment of BSF in safeguarding the nation’s borders and curbing cross-border smuggling activities.
