The book titled Book titled “Mera Zindginama” – My Autography – by Dr.Ved Parkash Nagpal was released today at Press Club, Chandigarh in the presence of prominent writers, well-wishers and media persons.
Dr.Nagpal is M.Com. LL.B. Ph.D and retired from Haryana Education Services (HES) as Director, Institute of Management Studies and now settled at Chandigarh. He has also been honoured with Eminent Educationist Award by National and international Compendium (NIC) New Delhi for his outstanding achievement in the field.
The autobiography is a story of a family who had crossed over to India at the time of India-Pakistan partition and was successful to rehabilitate against various odd circumstances and problems.
This book belongs to a person who had touched the heights in the field of education with continuous struggle in his life. He got whatever he thought and wanted. He started his career as an ordinary teacher and got the distinction as Director Principal. Completed his Ph.D and LL.B. and accepted the responsibility of 28000 NCC cadets while serving in the directorate of Haryana State.
The book – Mera Zindginama – in Hindi language is a source of inspiration for the young generation as there is a flood of incidents for the young one and a rich material for the older timers for the purpose various couplets befitting with the situation.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr.Nagpal said, my ideas are different from others and the tension was only as to how to share with the masses. I got a full support from my family to complete this book.
He wants to have a critical review of my book as it is based on real story and not the fictions like ‘Tamas’.
Had my mother not save me from the sharp weapons attacked from the Muslims, I would have been here before you today, he recalled one such incident.
Giving a message, Dr.Nagpal said, never admit a defeat, and fight with the circumstances, to get a desired success.
During his interaction with the audience and media persons, Dr.Nagpal said, I was not perfect in language but I did not hesitate to consult my wife over any grammatical issue. Giving an example of the use of ‘baar 2’ (again and again) was replaced with ‘baar-baar’.
I myself have read this book more than 25 times before its publication and in your hands now. The idea behind was that the books must pass through the ‘agni priksha’ – trial by fire. I feel pleasure that the book is now having golden words after editing.
When asked about the translation, Dr.Nagpal said, I had a dream that the book is translated in English and Punjabi so that it reaches the maximum hands to put them wiser about the sacrifices made for the freedom of India which they enjoy today besides cherishing the freedom struggle.
On asking about the mention of dates, places, names after such a long time, he said he has never maintained a dairy and whenever he made up his mind to pen down the pages for the book, the all this had been coming to his mind automatically.
Dr.Nagpal in his choked voice shared said that whatever he has felt, he has writer and both the writer and reader have the same feeling on its reading.
He was, however, happy to announce his next write-up under title –SAB RANG shortly.
Radhe Shyam, who has written the preface of the book said, the book is full of incidents actually happened with the writer, who has portrayed the real picture of life from the Zero.
Dr.Amrit Dhingra on this occasion said, I have seen Dr.Nagpal as a teacher who loved his students more than his children. He is a very creative writer and I encourage him to write this book for the third generation to know the ground realities of partition of India and Pakistan.
He said those who don’t get a lesson from the history are bound to destroy and we all must get a lesson from the book.
Giving a sincere advice, he was frank to say that don’t make the book a commercial one as the thoughts are very emotional and have attachment with the family, society and nation as well based on real story.
