“Bir Society” celebrates World Sparrow Day at SBS State Tech Campus

Ferozepur, March 21, 2018:  Keeping in view the purpose of saving many of the endangered species of pebbles and to increase the decreasing number of birds, Beed Society Faridkot today observed World Sparrow Day by installing the soil-shelves in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus at Ferozepur, at the residence of Director, T.S.Sidhu at about 20 locations.

This year the theme for WORLD SPARROW DAY is I LOVE Sparrows. The theme has been inspired by the hope that more and more of us will celebrate the relationship between PEOPLE AND SPARROWS.

Appreciating the work being done by the society, Dr T. S. Sidhu, they would continue to work at such a large scale to maintain the balance of nature and motivate the students.  He said that this institution has already attained state-level honour for keeping the environment clean and green.

Master Gurpreet Singh Sran from Bir Society said that the campaign – Save Birds-Perform Responsibility – the educational institution will create awareness at the high level to protect the words.   He said that birds are an integral part of our lives and the entire nature and without them, the land will become desolate.

Jagpal Singh Brar, Kuldeep Singh Purba and Gursevak Singh Kainth, while interacting with all the media persons, informed that as many as 7,000 bird-shelves of soil have been allotted by the Bir Society in different places till now in which fifteen species of birds have settled down. In these places, there has been an increase in the number of domestic sparrows and many birds in many places.

He said that the campaign will be further expanded in entire Punjab and maximum installation will be in schools colleges which will create an interest of children in nature.  

On this occasion, head of Eco-Friendly Group of  Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Yashpal, Bir Society member, Balwinder Singh Mohie, PRO and Jaswant Singh were present.
