Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation urges Pakistan government for easy visa process between Pak-India

Lahore December 26, 2018: After principally agreeing to open the Kartarpur Corridor to enable the Sikh followers in India to pay obeisance at Kartarpur Gurudawara in Pakistan, Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi Chairman, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan will organize a programme, on January 6, 2019, to knock the doors of Pakistan government against public level restrictions for issue of Visas between Pakistan and India, and urging the Pakistan government to celebrate 2019 as Peace Year.

Qureshi said it’s a good gesture of goodwill by both the countries by opening the Kartarpur Corridor as a mark of respect to 550th birthday celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji by celebrating to spread his message of brotherhood.

The candles will be illuminated on Jan 6, 2019, at 4 pm at Press Club Shimla Pahaadi Lahore, he said.

Qureshi in his audio message said, at the time of partition of India and Pakistan,  Gandhi and Jinnah had a dream that people of  America and Canada continue to meet without visas, we too will continue to meet but it is very unfortunate that the political leaders of both the countries could not fulfil their dream.  He said, there had been transfers at the administrative level but restrictions have been put at the public level which we condemn.

He said, when the people of both the countries will meet, who are living below the poverty line,  there will be a revolution of economic development and prosperity and the clouds of stranger or foreigner will disappear.

We will celebrate the year 2019 as Peace Year and the lovers of Shaheed Bhagat Singh will participate in this movement.

Added here, Qureshi Advocate by profession is also pursuing the renaming of Shadman Chowk as Bhagat Singh Chowk in Lahore and proving the innocence of Bhagat Singh who was sentenced to death when there was no mention of his name in the FIR.
