ANTF, Health Deptt jointly seize Rs.1.25 Cr banned drugs in Ferozepur, kingpin arrested
Ferozepur, January 23, 2025: In a decisive move against habit-forming drugs, the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) and health department jointly conducted search operations in Ferozepur City. The raids resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of banned medicines of the value of Rs.1.25 crore and the registration of four cases under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, which deals with “Disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant” and arrest of kingpin.
The Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) in Ferozepur has dealt a significant blow to a drug trafficking network with the arrest of kingpin Gurmukh Kapoor.
Acting on the directions of Special DGP ANTF Punjab, a joint team of ANTF, led by SP Bhupinder Singh and DSP Gurpreet Singh, along with the Drug Control Officer, conducted a massive operation.

DSP Gurpreet Singh said that during the operation, authorities seized a substantial quantity of banned drugs, including 7,100 intoxicant tablets, 300 injections, 3,87,417 capsules, and 1,32,100 tablets, with an estimated street value of Rs.1.25 crore. An FIR has been registered against Gurmukh Kapoor and Kuldeep Kumar under Section 22C of the NDPS Act at the ANTF SAS Nagar police station. While Gurmukh Kapoor was arrested, Kuldeep Kumar is already serving a 7-year prison sentence.
This arrest follows another three cases against other individuals involved in drug trafficking, including Kunal Kapoor, Raman Kapoor, Pawan Kapoor, Rajat Badwar, Angrej Singh, and Rakesh Gupta. In these cases, there was a recovery of 17180 tablets of Tapentadol and 260 capsules of Pregabalin and against Pawan Kapoor and Rajat Badwar with recovery of 11,111 tablets of tapentadol and 7,188 capsules of Pregabalin and Angrej Singh and Rakesh Gupta for recovery of Pregabalin capsules.
The ANTF is currently investigating the matter further to dismantle the entire drug network and apprehend any other individuals involved.
