Article 370 scrapping: DC, SSP reviewed law and order situation in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, August 5, 2019: In a joint meeting today afternoon, Deputy Commissioner, Chander Gaind and SSP Vivek S.Soni reviewed the law and order situation in the city amid major political developments in Jammu and Kashmir after the issuance of order for scrapping of Article 370.
Local advisory came following decisions related to J&K to prevent any breach of security.
No one would be allowed to take law and order in his hands as there is a need to have patience with regard to statements on this issue, said Deputy Commissioner.
He said, the people should restrain themselves from those spreading rumours on this issue and verify any related content they post on social media and warned of leal action against rumour mongers.
Vivek S. Soni, SSP said, the law and order situation in the district is being monitored and people should post anything thoughtfully on their social media account. In case anyone is found spreading rumour or disseminating unverified information on social media, a legal amd swift action will be initiated against him under the IT Act.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner has asked all the SDMs and DSPs to have joint patrolling in the district and to ensure compliance of law and order. They have been asked to sensitize the public against attempts by anti-national and anti-social elements that can lead to breach of peace in the district.
