Army Jawan commits suicide by shooting himself in Ferozepur

Ferozepur December 7, 2018:  In Ferozepur Cantonment area, an army jawan posted as Nyk in 607 EMI identified as Uma Shankar, 35 years old of Mudher district in Bihar, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.

Giving this information, Jaspal Singh Cantt Police Station SI informed that Prabhat Kumar Sharma brother of Uma Sharma on duty when he fatally shot himself.  In a complaint registered with the police, he has alleged that Uma Shankar had come back from leave a few days back and he was not having tension. He said, his brother has committed suicide during the service time by shooting himself.

ASI informed that on the statement of the brother of the deceased, taking action under Section 174, the dead body was handed over to the family members after legal and medical formalities. Inquest proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident.
