Another case of sacrilege of ‘Bir’ in Nazu Shah Misri Village near Ferozepur

Ferozepur, October 16, 2015: With the surfacing of another cae of sacrilege of ‘Bir’ in Nazu Shah Misri village near Ferozepur, the circumstances in Punjab are becoming tense day by day started from farmers agitation for demanding compensation against cotton crop damage, followed by sacrilege of holy book at village Burj Jawar Singh Wala on finding scattered pieces of stolen pages from village Bargari near Kotkapura, in Faridkot district, giving call of bandh for consecutive third day causing inconvenience to the people and withdrawal of exoneration Hukamnama of Dera Sachha Sauda Head.
In Nazu Shah Village, the pages of holy book has been reported to be torn condition and seen by the Granthi – Sukhdev Singh who shared the sacrilege with the villagers in the afternoon which spread like a file and the incident irritated the villagers.
Darshan Singh Sherkhan, SGPC member, who had gone to the village to know about the factual position, was also attacked by the angry villagers in Nazu Shah Misri village. They also set his vehicle on fire, sources said.
While speaking to Deputy Commissioner, Er.DPS Kharbanda, he confirmed sacrilege by some unscrupulous persons. Adequate force has been deputed in the area and shortly, we will arrest the culprits, he said. He also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony.
Both SSP and Darshan Singh Sherkhan SGPC member could not be contacted to know more about the factual position.
With the extension of agitation by the Sikh Organizations to register their protest with Black Flags for lack of police action in a case of desecration of Holy Book, the roads were blocked on Ferozepur-Ludhian, Ferozepur-Zira roads but the traffic was normal in the city.
However, on Ferozepur-Zira, the protesters allowed the military vehicles to pass on by removing the blocked road.
