ACROSS THE BORDER: PaK-based Foundation celebrates 93rd martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev
Lahore, March 23, 2024: Like previous years, today evening the 93rd Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev – the great revolutionary leaders of Pakistan and India was observed under the tutelage of Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, Chairman, Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Pakitsan at Lahore, in the presence of good number of locals, advocates, and office bearers.
Speaking on the occasion, Qureshi said that people like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are born after centuries. Bhagat Singh went to mosque, temple, gurdwara, church, everywhere and told the people that nothing can work without peace and the foundation of every religion is based on peace. Bhagat Singh is a common hero of both India and Pakistan. By making him the foundation, both countries can take a long journey of friendship, which can end poverty, unemployment and poverty from both countries and Inflation can end. Talking about the ideology, he shared that Bhagat Singh said, if we have to fight, fight the poverty of the poor, fight hatred, fight enmity and win peace.
Qureshi said, we are fighting in the count of law to prove the innocence of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev by reoplenign the case, which has been under hearing for 11 years in Lahore High Court
He said, we have also requested Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan to give hero status to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev and award them with Pakistan’s highest civilian award “Anshan Pakistan” and name Shadman Chowk after Bhagat Singh besides making visa-free for the citizens of India from Hussainiwala. In the second resolution, the Foundation urged the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to award India’s highest civilian award “Bharat Ratna” to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev as heroes. In the third resolution, a demand was put to issue commemorative postage stamps and coins of Bhagat Singh and include the revolutionary history as part of the syllabus in the educational curriculum.
