AAP ticket seekers in ‘poster war’ in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 24, 2021: The race for assembly tickets has begun in Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for assembly segments of Ferozepur. So there is no indication by the AAP National President Arvind Kejriwal to the ticket aspirants to declare their intentions with posters and banners, rather it looks to be a volume of crown each would garner for the rally, which is perhaps the precondition for tickets set by the AAP.
The posters prominently carrying the image of ticket aspirants beneath the photographs of the party leaders they follow – Arvind Kejriwal – Bhagwant Mann and others – have been seen pasted on the walls of the city are by Randhir Singh Bhullar, Narinder Singh Sandha, Vinod Soi. None of the poster carry a picture of the aspirant candidate with the AAP Supremo Kejriwal.
Janmeja Singh Sekhon, former Cabinet Minister during SAD tenure, a candidate from Zira constituency said, everybody knows the stand of AAP. Each leader is speaking in their own tones with no agenda. Recently, the Congress MLAs Sukhpal Khaira and Jagdev Singh have joined the AAP slamming the Congress party. Merely poster war will not suffice to win in the coming elections some specific agendas and public acceptable face is required.
Rinku Grover, President, Municipal Council when contacted said, we have noticed the defacing the public and government walls and take action accordingly. He also advised the party leaders to seek proper permission for display of posters otherwise the same will be removed by the council.
While a poster manufacture old that lakhs of rupees have been spent on posters, a local Dr.Bedi said, it would have been better if the AAP aspirant candidates would have done the development work in the city.
Though it is party’s internal matter to give ticket, , but the poster war clearly shows that it is a method to contract the right candidate, by the party, said a local senior citizen. Perhaps the party which in power in Delhi, may apply the 3Cs yardstick of – (no) corruption, (no) criminal record and (good) character while selecting the candidates for the upcoming assembly polls.
