AAP becomes active in the absence of Congress candidate in Fazilka
Fazilka January 6, 2017 : With the announcement of election dates for Punjab Assembly elections by the Election Commission of India, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Fazilka – Samarbir Singh – has intensified his election campaign by visiting the border villages.
Samarbir Singh said the farmers will be provided adequate water arrangements up to the tail ends on coming of AAP in power so that they could do the irrigation in a better way.
While Surjit Kumar Jyani, sitting MLA from Fazilka and Health Minister Punjab is the candidate of BJP in alliance with SAD, the other major political party Congress has not so far nominated its candidate in the first two list released so far. However, the third list of Punjab Congress candidates is expected shortly as the election dates have now been announced.
Shri Surjit Kumar Jayani is the MLA from Fazilka. He is associated with BJP. He was elected as MLA from this v
idhan sabha seat in the elections held in 2012. He won by a thin margin of 1692 votes. Jaswinder Singh Rocky of Independent was the trailing candidate who gave a tough fight by securing 39209 votes against 40901 polled to Surjit Kumar Jyani.
The delay in nominating the candidates by the political parties puts a question mark on the credibility of the party and smelled of factionalism and fissure within the party among the leaders and workers. But its credit definitely goes to the third party like AAP which is contesting on all the seats in Punjab for the first time under the patronage of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Supremo.
AAP candidate during his interaction with the villagers at Sabbuana village said the farmers are passing through the economic crisis because of wrong policies of the Akali-BJP government rule in Punjab and such problems are not good signs for the future of the country.
AAP candidate Samarbir Singh said only the AAP can provide relief to the farmers from committing suicides by taking them out from the whirligig of alliance government. He said there is no need for a long period now as the AAP will take care of their problems on coming to power.
The people of Punjab are waiting eagerly waiting for voting day to oust the Congress and Akali-BJP from Punjab.
