C-PYTE has facilitated employment of over one lac youths of Punjab : Dire
Ferozepur, June 23, 2018: Since the establishment of C-PYTE at Hakumat Singh Wala in Ferozepur, 458 trained youths have joined the India Army after getting the pre-recruitment training.
To enable youngsters to gain entry in the Army by imparting them technical education, Major General Rajiv Edward, Director General, C-PYTE during his visit to one of the 16 Centres for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth, at Hakumat Singh Wala in Ferozepur district, motivated the youths to join the Indian Army.
There is also one C-PYTE Centre Borawala in Mansa District where training is imparted to both boys and girls, while at Tarn Taran is center is exclusively meant for girls.
C-PYTE – an institution formally inaugurated in August I 1990 at village Lopoke by the then PM, V.P.Singh, raised by late Brigadier NS Sandhu, MVC as National Task Force registered under the Societies Act with an aim to select unemployed youths from all the districts of Punjab, in a phased manner and seek their absorption after appropriate training into legitimate economic occupations.
Besides, C-PYTE also gives an opportunity to wean the youth away from illegal and illicit activities, to provide environment that fosters the value of nation building discipline and social concern amongst the identified youths, to provide employment oriented training and skill creation to increase avenues of employment at the end of the period of training and to make the youth better citizens and to upgrade their skills and discipline to make them more employable.
Speaking on the occasion, DG said, the underlying theme of C-PYTE is training, empowerment, pride, diligence, sincerity and motivation.
He said, C-PYTE is a unique organization, conceived and established by the visionary leaders of Punjab and the only one of its kind in the country which is fully funded by the State Government. Since raising C-PYTE has facilitated employment of over one lac youth of Punjab.
Officer-in charge of Training, Major Amarjit Singh said, in the C-PYTE camps, the 12-weeks pre-recruitment training is imparted in well organized camps to the youths for absorption into the Armed Forces, Central Armed Para Military Forces – CAPF and Punjab Police –PP. In addition, the training is also imparted for employment as Security Guard and in other vocations, as required.
The salient feature of the training programme of the government is that no costs are charged to the boys. The entire training as well as boarding and lodging is free, he added.
He further said, at C-PYTE Centre Hakumat Singh Wala, started on August 2015, 56 youths in 2015-16 batch, 179 youths in 2016-17 and 223 youths in 2017-18 have joined the armed forces. In the current year batch, 274 youths have been enrolled and Army Recruitment Rally will be held during the month of August.
