Cantonments under Vajra Corps celebrate 4th International Day of Yoga
Ferozepur, June 21, 2018: Thousands of army personnel and their families participated in the Yoga sessions organized in various military cantonments on the occasion of 4th International Day of Yoga.
In Jalandhar the Vajra Corps organised a Yoga Shivir at Jalandhar Garrison attended by Officers, JCOs and other ranks and families of the station. The event was conducted with a set of Pranayamas and meditation techniques with soothing music in the background.
Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt (ACN) also celebrated International Day of Yoga. All the students, faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in the yoga activities.
In Ludhiana, The International Yoga Foundation and qualified army instructors conducted an hour-long yoga session at Dholewal Military Complex. Over one thousand army personnel and their families participated in the customized yoga session which was followed by a cycling session of women and children.
In Ferozepur Cantt about 3000 army personnel with their families participated in the hour-long yoga session organized at Capt Sunder Singh stadium under the aegis of Golden Arrow Division. Maj General JS Sandhu General Officer Commanding urged the participants to spread awareness about the benefits of Yoga. The Ferozepur Cantt Board also organized Yoga events for ex-servicemen and NCC cadets. Trained yoga instructors guided the participants through the yoga asanas.
Dr (Mrs) Baljit Kaur, Principal and Col Daljit Kumar (Retd), Registrar, unveiled the theme of International Yoga Day 2018. Thereafter, Dr (Mrs) Baljit Kaur, Principal, Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt administered the pledge to students to make Yoga an integral part of their daily life.
In Uttar Pradesh, Maj General Atulya Solanky General Officer Commanding was the chief guest at yoga event organized by Pine Division at Meerut Cantt.
Yoga sessions were also organized at Kasauli, Dagshai, Jutogh cantonments and Solan military station in Himachal Pradesh. Military men and their families participated in the yoga sessions in large numbers.
