PGPA to oppose Congress candidate in Shahkot
Ferozepur, May 13, 2018: The Punjab Government Pensioners Association, Ferozepur in its meeting held today under the tutelage of Dev Raj Narula President and Ajit Singh General Secretary decided to oppose the Congress candidate by sitting of hunger strike on May 21 at Shahkot.
They said, the pensioners are fighting for their long pending demands since long but none of the governments in the past have accepted any of their demand for which there is a great resentment among them.
Ajit Singh Sodhi said, the government is neither accepting their demands nor ready to have a dialogue across the table and the pensioners have now decided to sit on hunger strike in good numbers at Shahkot on May 21 to express their resentment. They will try that the Congress candidate is defeated.
Present among others in the meeting were Rajpal Singh, Manohar Lal Sharma, Ajer Singh, Darshan Singh, Mahavir Singh, Ram Lal Mittal and Nachhatar Singh.
