Bharat Bandh: Ferozepur shopkeepers protest to get FIR cancelled
Ferozepur, April 11, 2018: Today, the shopkeepers expressed their resentment by closing the shops in the morning, on coming to know of the registration of a case against eight identified persons and 8-9 unidentified persons for the violence erupted in the town against caste-based reservation on Tuesday, April 10.
The protesters booked by name are Ankush Bajrang Dal President, Banti Bajaj, Monga Bakery Wala, Pankaj Malhotra, Tarun Pilot, Bhola Karyana Wala, Raheja Boot House and Babbal along with 8-9 unidentified persons under Sections 307, 452, 232, 148, 149 IPC.
On a faceless protest by the general category for Bharat Bandh on April 10 in Ferozepur, when hundreds of people carrying sticks, swords, baseball bats and other weapons had forced the traders to shut their shops. There was also a stone pelting when one shopkeeper identified as Ashok refused to shut his establishment who was attacked by some protesters and admitted to the hospital.
The protesters said, the bandh was peaceful but some unidentified persons started pelting with stones and several vehicles parked on the road were damaged. The police should identify those people and book them
However, with the intervention of police to maintain law and order in the city, the shops were opened and a memorandum was submitted to the police for in-depth investigation into the case, to take action against the real accused, by cancelling the existing FIR.
