Encounter between gangsters and policemen in border district of Ferozepur
Ferozepur July 11, 2017: In an encounter of Punjab and Haryana police with the gangsters, in village Kohala in Mallanwala sub-divison in Ferozepur, three suspected gangsters have been arrested while the kingpin is reported to have fled away.
On a tip-off about the hiding of gangsters in the village Kohala and firing, the village was converted in the police cantonment. A firing incident was reported in the wee hours and three suspicious nature persons are hiding in the village.
Ajmer Singh Bath, SP(D) supervising the search operation in the village said that he search operation is still going on and three youths have been arrested on suspicion.
Sources said, there is no loss of life in the incident but the situation is tense in the village. The arrested miscreants are being questioned. The search operation in the village was still going on.
Not much was shared about the involvement of gangsters in the particular case and their connection with this particular village. However, the association of police of the adjoining state itself speaks that the gangsters must be wanted in Haryana in some activities like murders, kidnappings and trafficking cases and they must be having links with a gang in Punjab.
Later, the police chief Gaurav Garg confirmed the arrest of three gangsters Amanpreet, Rachpal and Gurpreet Singh who were hiding in the village. He said, the anti-social elements will not be spared to disturb the peace in the area.
