Ferozepur skaters cover 816 km in 51 hours in Continuous Speed Skating Marathon in Belgaum
Ferozepur, June 7, 2017: Noor Gupta, young skater from border town – a student of 8th class of local St.Joseph Convent School – successfully covered 816 km in 51 hours day and night under “Longest Skatealon Rally” conducted in Belgaum (Karnataka) from 1-3 June, 2017.
Noor born (13) on August 8, 2004 – daughter of Krishan Gupta and Divya Gupta, owner of know Kamal Café in Ferozepur Cantt – had a number of records to her credit including the six – Asia, Limca, Global Records, India Book of Records, Children Records, Indian Achiever Book of Records – to her credit.
Noor was the only student represented from Ferozepur among around 500 participates in the skating rally.
Speaking to this correspondent, Noor gave credit for this distinction to her coach Amar Bhullar who had been training her in the campus of MLM Sr.Sec. School, for this skating marathon.
When asked about its benefit, she said, Skating is great for improving strength, balance, agility, coordination and flexibility and a key to weight control besides easy to learn. But it is a great enthusiasm building.
I wish to break the world record in the coming events, she said confidently.
