Ferozepur, September 28, 2015: Paddlers’ Club organizes ‘Mega Cycle Rally’ dedicated to Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s 108th Birthday Anniversary from Saragarhi Gurudawara to Hussainiwala extended over a 11 km stretch and back with participation of district administration, BSF, Army, teachers, students, and representative of various NGOs on cycles.
Within one month of formation of Paddlers Club, the cycle rally was organized to commemorate the 108th Birth Anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh to lit a spirit of nationalism amidst the students who are the future of our country and to create awareness about health and environment with the use of daily cycling.
After paying floral tributes to the martyrs at Mohan Lal Bhaskar Chowk, H.S.Mann, SSP waved the flag where Jatinder Jorwal, IAS Asstt. Commissioner (under trainee) and K.B.Patil, S.P.(Hq).
On this occasion,H.S.Mann said, the youths should come forward for preservation of health and environment and give due place to cycles in place of luxurious car and motorbikes.
100 students, 20 each from local 5 schools – DCM School of Groups, Manav Mandir School, Sai Public School, Govt. Sr.Sec. School (Boys) and (Girls) in colourful T-shirts with Paddlers Club logo, had active participation in 30 KMs cycling.
On reaching the rally at Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala, a warm welcome was given by BSF and Army jawans.
After paying rich tributes to the martyrs, K.B.Patil, SP(H) and Jatinder Jorwal, IAS, AC(under trainee) in their address appreciated the initiative taken by the Paddlers Club and motivated the students to have a lesson from great revolutionary Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He also motivated the youths to adopt cycling from health and cost-cutting measures point of view and making it a habit of daily routine life.
Earlier, Er.Anirudh Gupta, CEO DCM Group of Schools welcoming the special guests, highlighted the aims and objects of the Paddlers Club and assured to organize such rally every year on 28th September.
Dr.Satinder Singh, National Awardee speaking on the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh said, Shaheed Bhagat Singh as real hero and role model for the youths.
Amarjit Singh Bhogal, member Paddlers’ Club put wiser the students about the importance of use of cycling in life as need of the hour. He asked the students to pledge today to contribute something to make pollution free environment.
The rally was managed throughout the entire route by NCC cadets. The enthusiasm could be seen with active participation of students in the cycle rally.
Professor Rajiv Arora who joined the rally alongwith his wife Shivani and kids Paranav and Parineetina said, “Cycling is the best exercise and all should cycle to stay fit and freshen the mind. More-over, students are the medium to get across the message and by engaging them in an activity, they would feel involved in the cause.”
Parineeta, 10 years, was the youngest 5th class students of DC Model School paddled all the 35 kms route on cycling from her residence to Hussainiwala and back.
Reciting the patriot song Mrs.Shivani, Headmistress Govt. High School Khushal Singh Wala was a change in emotional atmosphere with a message that dedicated and devoted people having love for nation never face defeat.
On the way arrangements for lemon-water was arranged at the mid of the rally at Dass and Brown School besides light refreshment at the Hussainiwala. ‘Parshad’ was served at Saragarhi Gurudawara followed by hot milk. There were about seven breaks down on the way for which a pick-up van was arranged.
Traffic police managed the movement of the rally in a peaceful manner at all the crossing. The rally was successfully completed without any untoward incident with the active participation of one and all.
While master-of-ceremony was nicely performed by Harish Monga, Convener Paddlers Club, the vote of thanks for all was conveyed by Gourav Bhaskar, Secretary, Mohal Lal Bhaskar Memorial Foundation.
