Baboo Congress candidate wins from Ward No.14 re-poll MC elections in Ferozepur by 77 votes
Ferozepur, March 8 : The re-poll at Ward No.14, ordered by the Election Commission due to discrepancy in the voters list, was ended peacefully today. Baboo Congress candidate from this ward won the Municipal election by 77 votes defeating his nearest rival of BJP.
With the concluding of result of ward No.14, out of total 31 seats, BJP got 19, SAD9, Congress 3 and Independent candidates three seats. This information was given by Addl Election Officer cum ADC, Neelima.
She further said, in Ward No.14, 6 candidates were in fray. In all, 2457 voters used their right to franchise which comes to 73.54 percent. Congress candidate Baboo got 1244, BJP’s Jagga got 1167 while the Independent candidates Malkit Kaur, Asha and Sunder got 17, 19 and 5 votes only.
It may be added during the last MC polls held on February 25, a dispute has cropped over the discrepancy in the voters list with the Polling Officer and candidates and the Election Commission has ordered re-poll for March 8.
