Two women ‘tear off’ woman cop’s uniform

Ferozepur, May 12,2020: Two women not only manhandled a woman Sub Inspector but also tore her uniform when the latter tried to stop her when they were called in the police station after registration of a complaint on Helpline 112, on the certain dispute.

A case under Sections 353 – Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty, 186, 506 of IPC has been registered on the complaint of Sub Inspector Joginder Kaur at Lakho Ke Behram police station against Randeep Kaur and Sukhpal Kaur resident of Colony Baba Jiwan Singh Nagar.

According to Joginder Kaur SI, both the parties – Randeep Kaur the complainant at helpline 112 and the rival party Tara Singh were called in the police station.  During the course of listening to both the parties, the accused Randeep Kaur provoked and tried to attack on the other party and in the meantime, SI Joginder Kaur caught hld of the arms of Sukhpal Kaur mother of Randeep Kaur, when she – Randeep Kaur – caught hold of the uniform from collar and break the name plate and buttons of the uniform besides threatening to put off her uniform.  The alleged accused tore off the SI’s uniform and manhandled her besides tried to put hindrance in performing the official duties.

Both were arrested and a case was registered.  Meanwhile, SI Amarjit Kaur has been appointed as IO in the case to further investigate into the matter.
