Dr.Ambedkar’s Social Integration Scheme aims to eradicate caste discrimination
Ferozepur, October 1, 2021: Dr. Ambedkar Foundation New Delhi, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India is running a “Dr. Ambedkar Social Integration Scheme through Interracial Marriages” with an aim to eradicate caste discrimination and to appreciate those inter-caste marriage couples who have arranged interracial marriage, said Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Vineet Kumar.
The scheme aims at eradicating casteism in India. It believes that inter-caste marriages are a way out of casteism, untouchability and will bring freedom, equality, and harmony.
He said, “Under this scheme the couple going for inter-caste marriage would be given financial assistance of Rs. 2.50 lakh by the said foundation so that they could settle in the initial stage of marriage”.
Under the scheme, couples arranging inter-caste marriages have to submit the file within one year from the date of marriage as per the rules of the scheme and one of the married couples should be Scheduled Caste and the other Non-Scheduled Caste and their marriage should be registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, he added.
DC further said that the inter-caste married couples could avail the benefit of this scheme by filling up the required documents along with the prescribed form and attaching the letter marked by the MP / MLA and submitting it to the office of the District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer, in DAC complex Ferozepur.
