Mobile recovered from jail inmate in high security zone ward

Feroepur, December 12, 2020:  During the checking of high security zone ward of Central Jail, one mobile has been recovered from gangster prisoner under trial Palwinder Singh alias Pinda of village Nihaliwala of Lohiana Khas in Jalalandar district.  The recovery of mobiles from inside the jail has put a question mark on lacking of security arrangements.

Giving more details, Sawan Singh, Assistant Superintendent, Central Jail informed that during the checking of high security zone ward No.2, ahata cell No.4 at Chakki No.3 of the barrack, one mobile was recovered of Oppo brand of black colour touch screen with battery and SIM card.

A case under Section 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered against the jail inmate and further investigations are on with special focus on its usage and to ascertain the purpose.
