8 persons booked in clash over panchayat land bidding in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 30, 2023: In a clash over panchayat land bidding in village Saddu Shah Wala (ArifKe ) in Ferozepur district, for which a video has gone viral on the social media, 8 persons have been booked under Sections IPC 1960 Sections 307, 324, 506, 148, 149, and 25 and 27 of Arms Act 1959.
In the FIR, it is stated that there was a bidding of panchayat land in village Saddhu Shah Wala on June 16 where Jarnail Singh and his sent Inderjit Singh had gone for bidding where Secretary Balwinder Singh and Panchayat Officer Sarbjit Singh were present. While the bidding for two plots have been finalized and bidding for the third plot is going on. On one side, Gurjant Singh alias Bhatti and on the other side, Pargat Singh – his cousin were bidding. When Pargat Singh offered bidding of Rs.1,12,000, then Gurjant Singh offered bidding for Rs.1,25,000 and then Pargat Singh started slapping on my cousin objecting for the bidding against him. Later on, Gurjant Singh threatened dire consequences with his illegal weapon. However, the matter was settled but Gurjant Singh again visited around 2.30 pm along with his brothers Jaswant Singh, Baljit Singh, Ranjit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Ajay, Harjinder Singh along with 2-3 unidentified persons with swords in their hands with intention to murder. In this scuffle, the injured were admitted to the hospital and an MLR was issued. This all has happened for giving a bidding against Gurjant Singh Bhatti.
SP(D) Randhir Kumar informed that the eight persons booked has been identified as Gurjant Singh Bhatti, Jaswnt Singh Jassu and Baljit Singh Khand, Ranjit Singh Toti, Bhupinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh of Saddhu Shah Wala (Arift Ke), Ajay of Hasti Wala, Harjinder Singh of Bagge Ke Pipal. Further investigation in this case is on.
