7 deaths, 306 COVID +ve surfaced in Ferozepur, highest in a single day

Ferozepur, May 7, 2021:  Seven deaths and 306 Corona positive cases, highest in a single day, were reported in Ferozepur district on Thursday, taking the total tally of deaths to 248 and active cases to 1,503.

During the seven days of May, seven deaths and 1,083 new Corona positive cases have surfaced in the district. In March 603 positive cases were noticed with 17 deaths and inApril, 55 deaths and 2,383 positive cases were reported.

As a preventive measure, the railways have also advised to travel only with Covid test negative report for satisfaction of fellow passengers and following the Covid-19 protocols.  The administration and local NGOs have also started Corona-Free-Ferozepur campaign to control further spread of virus.

As per information, 1,39,174 samples were taken since the outbreak of Coronavirus, out of which 1,29,072 tested negative, 8,702 positive, 6,957 recovered and 1,503 still active.  However, the reports of 1,400 samples are still awaited.

Seven deaths include four males and three females of age group between 52-80 years in Mamdot, Ferozepur urban, Guruharsahai, Mamdot, and Ferozepurshah  blocks in the district.

In the vaccination drive, 1,474 were vaccinated today and so far, 79,604 persons have been vaccinated including frontline and health workers.
