7 deaths, 263 COVID-19 positive surfaced in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 15, 2021: Seven deaths and 263 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Ferozepur taking the total tally of positive cases in Ferozepur, as on date to 10,176 positive cases and 200 deaths, since the outbreak of virus in the district.
The Civil Surgeon made an appeal to the people to continue to follow the Covid guidelines from the health department from time to time and go out of home only in emergent need only that too avoiding the crowded places. She said, anyone noticing any symptoms of high fever, cough, and body pains, must go in for Covid test without any loss of time, to go ahead with treatment accordingly.
As per record 1,44,215 samples were taken, out of which 1,36,539 were reported negative, 10,176 positive, 8222 recovered and still 1,665 cases were active while the result of 500 samples are still awaited.
Among seven deaths, two are male and 5 female of the age group of 36 to 72 years – 3 in Ferozshah, one each in Mamdot, Ferozepur Urban, Zira and Makhu blocks, said District Epidemiologist, Ferozepur
In the vaccination drive, 1,296 of 18-44 years, first dose to health workers 4,881, second dose to 1,627, 16,185 first dose to front line workers, second dose to 6,019 making the total vaccination to 88,674 persons in the district.
