Ferozepur, July 10, 2020: One Corona positive was reported as 6-year-old girl among the 8 new cases in Ferozepur and making the total of active cases as 63. Since the outbreak of Corona, the total number of positive cases has gone to 155, while 89 patients have since been recovered and discharged and so far, three deaths in the district.
Among the 8 new Crona positive cases of today, one is 6-year-old girl from Talwandi Bahi out of three from Talwandi, one from Guruharsahai, three from Ferozepur and one from the countryside. They are in the age group of 62, 55 45, 41, 39, 27, 21 and 6 years.
Meanwhile, with the detection of more Corona positive cases in Talwandi and Guruharsahai have closed down. Even the local Beopar Mandals have taken the decision to restrict the movement of people in the cities to put a check on the spread of virus.
Simultaneously, as a part of the ‘Mission Fateh’ program launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the district administration has so far conducted 12187 throat swab tests.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Gurpal Singh Chahal said that to check the Covid-19 pandemic, the Health department was aggressively conducting tests to trace the Covid-19 patients in the district adding that the health teams have so far conducted 12187 Throat Swab Test of the suspected patients in the district.
He said that samples of 10827 persons have been found negative whereas reports of around 400 samples were still pending. He said that the Health department was making strenuous efforts to check the pandemic in the district and no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause.
Chahal said that these tests were being done continuously to check the spread of the Corona Virus in the district. He said that the Health teams were aggressively conducting these tests adding that no stone was being left unturned for making Ferozeppur a Corona free district.
Pointing out further, Civil Surgeon Ferozepur Dr. Jugal Kishore said that a door to door screening survey was conducted by the health department where joint teams of health workers and Asha workers checking the spread of this virus. He said that so far around 2.75 Lakh persons have been screened by these teams.
