5178 Master Cadre Union burns copies of false FIRs, threatened to sit on fast-unto-death
Ferozepur, March 2, 2018: Today at Ferozepur, 5178 Master Cadre Union hold the protest for the demand of regularization of service and urged the government to cancel the false FIRs registered against the union leaders on the peaceful demonstration at Mohali on February 19.
Gurcharan Singh Kalsi, President, Satnam Singh, Secretary along with about hundred teachers joined the protest.
Kalsi said the Master Cadre teachers joined the education department in 2014 after passing PSTET – whose cases for regularization called during December 2017 for regularization of their services – are lying pending but despite passing of three months period, there is no progress. There seems to be a deliberate delay in the regularization process.
He added that in these Master Cadre teachers, there are certain teachers who are postgraduate and PSTET passed but working at the meagre wages of Rs6000 per month away from their home place in the schools at a distance of 100-150 km.
Education Minister did give time for meeting two times on February 12 at Jalandhar and March 1 at Civil Secretariat Chandigarh but no meeting could take place as the same was postponed with lame excuses perhaps the government don’t have the reply to the queries of these teachers.
Not only this, false cases were registered on the union leaders for the peaceful demonstration at Mohali.
Today, the union leaders burnt the copies of FIRs in protest and demanded its cancellation. Later a memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner for regularization of their services.
Giving a warning to the government, the union leaders threatened to initiate protest by sitting on fast-unto-death.
