500 field functionaries participates in Matru Vandana Saptah-2019
Ferozepur, December 12, 2019: Matru Vandana Saptah (MVS) 2019 was celebrated in the district Ferozepur in Accordance with guidelines of Govt. of India, under the tutelage of Chander Gaind, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, and Mrs. Rattandeep Sandhu, District Programme Officer, Ferozepur to disseminate the message of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY), from December 2 to December 8, 2019.
Chander Gaind, Deputy Commissioner said, PMMVY is a flagship scheme of the Government for pregnant women and lactating mother. Under PMMVY, a cash incentive of ₹ 5000/-, in three installments, is provided directly in the account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM) for first living child of the family subject to their fulfilling specific conditions relating to Maternal and Child Health.
Mrs. Rattandep Sandhu, District Programme Officer, Ferozepur, started the programme by oath taking ceremony and Fourteen Best performing, during the MVS Week, Angnawadi Workers of the district were facilitated.
Mrs. Rattandeep Sandhu, District Programme Officer said, Various activities had been planned including Selfie Corners for beneficiaries, Panchayat/Sath Meetings, Door to Door PMMVY campaign, Supervisor’s level training for capacity building of Angnawadi Workers, Rallies and Prabhat Pheries, special drive for reduction of applications in correction queue, and for reduction in 2nd and 3rd pending installment , Poshan Hut and Expert talk regarding Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation.
The closing ceremony of the Saptah was held at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, block Ferozepur, in which Human Chains of logos of PMMVY, National Health Mission, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and a rangoili of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao were made.
A new initiative has been undertaken by the department of Women and Child Development known as Matru Shakti Vahak (Six Autorickshaws carrying the banners of PMMVY) spreading awareness about the scheme to the masses.
In the closing ceremony, around 500 field functionaries were present including Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers, ANMs, and ASHAs, said DPO.
