5 deaths, 96 COVID-19 +ve cases reported in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, May 9, 2021:  Five deaths and 96 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Ferozepur taking the total tally of positive cases in Ferozepur, as on date to 8,986 positive cases and 258 deaths, since the outbreak of virus in the district.

Civil Surgeon appealed to the citizens to follow the Covid protocols sincerely to save your own life and lives of others and move out of the house only in emergent need, to make the Ferozepur a corona-free district.

As per record 1,41,287 samples were taken, out of which 1,31,301 were reported negative,  8,996 positive, 7,342 recovered and still 1,396 cases were active while the result of 1,000 samples are still awaited.

Five deaths in the district are of 4 males and one female of the age group of 51 years to 80 years in Ferozshah, Kassonana, Guruharsahai and Mamdot blocks.

In the vaccination drive, 853 persons of 45 plus age including frontline and health workers were given Covid vaccination and so far, 81,451 persons have been vaccinated in the district.
