415 cops conduct Cordon and Search Operation in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 8, 2024: The Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) were carried out, on the directions of Parveen Kumar Sinha, ADGP/NRI, Punjab, DIG Ranjeet Dhillon and SSP Vivek Sheel Soni, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, to check the nefarious activities of anti-social elements and drug peddlers in the drug infected hotspots to nab the bad elements disturbing the social fabric of the society.

The search operations were conducted in Ferozepur, Guruharsahai, Zira and Kulgarhi Sub-divisions by 2 SPs, 4 DSPs and 16 Inspectors, and 415 NGOs/EPOs police personnel, were deployed in various teams throughout the district.
The responsibility to executive this operation was entrusted under the supervision of Randhir Kumar, SP(Investigation) along with Sohan Lal, SP by the special teams constituted to launch the special campaign for search operations at the important buildings, railway stations, bus stands, hotels etc by blocking the main points in the district against the anti-social elements, drug traffickers etc.
Under this campaign in the areas of Basti Shekhan Wali, Basti Bhatia Wali at Ferozepur, Basti Guru Karam Singh at Guruarsahai, Basti Machian at Zira, Village Sher Khan under police station Kulgarhi in Ferozepur Rural division.
ADGP Sinha said this is a search operation, specific information and the targeted base is a part of the action to make Punjab a drug and crime-free state. It is an action against those involved in serious drug smuggling trade and drug pushing at the street level. In Ferozepur, certain colonies have been targeted with around 100 cops and it is hoped that this operation against drug smugglers and proclaimed offenders, will have a good impact on the area which is infamous, will help in cleaning and put it on the right path.
Divulging with the details, Randhir Kumar, SP(I) informed that in all 47 persons were rounded up 253 vehicles were checked and 8 persons were arrested against 12 FIRs registered today after the CAS Operation with the recovery of 160 gm heroin 170 narcotic pills, 4 motorcycles, 96.750 ltr illicit liquor, 1 working still and arrested of two proclaimed offenders (POs).
He said, the district police is fully prepared to eradicate anti-social elements, criminals, drug smugglers and other bad elements. People should contact local police for help without hesitation and share all information about such bad elements to keep society safe. He said that in the future more such operations will be carried out, as per headquarters directions and other required measures will be taken to counter bad elements.
