4 unclaimed mobiles found in Ferozepur Jail

Ferozepur, January 12, 2023: Despite strict vigil at the entry points in the Central jail, the smuggling in of mobiles is continued features when 4 unclaimed mobiles were found during the search operation of old barrack number 4.
It is added here that hardly there is any follow up of recovery of mobiles found from the inmates, lying unclaimed or found in the packets thrown over the high walls from outside as taking the high profile criminals on remand for investigation is another problem for the police from security point of view.
During the last year, despite tight security arrangements, more than 400 mobiles have been found from inside the jail, which itself speaks of losing the purpose of punishment to the criminals to keep them away from the outer world.
As per the information, a search operation was carried out at old barrack number 4, by Gurtej Singh, Assistant Superintendent at around 8.15 am on January 10 when four mobiles of different brands were found from different places inside the jail.
A case under Sections 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered against the unknown persons at police station Ferozepur City with appointment of Aush Masih as IO to further investigate the matter.
