31 trains of Ferozepur Rail Division due affected
Ferozepur, June 2, 2024: As many as 31 trains have been affected in Ferozepur Rail Division due to a derailment between the Sadhugarh-Sirhind track in Ambala Division.
Another hit A stationary goods train from behind at the New Sirhind Railway Station on Sunday Morning. In this incident, two loco pilots and some passengers were injured. However, the other trains had a narrow escape. The injured loco pilots were rushed to the Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib. After first aid, they were referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala.
According to railway authorities, a goods train carrying coal to Ropar Thermal Plant was stationed at the New Sirhind Railway Station. Another goods train, also carrying coal, rammed into the stationary goods train causing the engine of one of them to flip over to another track and hit a passenger train, Calcutta-Jammu Tawi special summer train number 04681.
Two trains were affected between Ambala and Ludhiana and 25 trains were diverted on major Jammu-Tawi-Barmer, Amritsar-Indore, Jalandhar City-New Delhi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi and others.
While one train Jalandhar City-Ambala Cantt was short-terminated three trains – Jammu Tawi-Gandhi Nagar, Amritsar-Jainagar and Amritsar-Gorakhpur were rescheduled.
