3 days Environment Film Festival & Forum on Lifestyle for the Environment inaugurated
Chandigarh March, 2023: Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Punjab in partnership with Delhi-based CMS VATAVARAN, is organizing a three-day Film Festival & Forum on LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) from March 28th-30th at Chandigarh University, Gharuan, Mohali. The event is being organized under the Environment Education Programme (EEP) of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Govt. of India for which PSCST is the state nodal agency in the State of Punjab.
The film festival will showcase award-winning national and international films on various aspects of environmental conservation and sustainable living such as ‘All that Breathes’ (India’s entry to Oscars for 2023), ‘Kalpvriksha: The Wishing Tree’ (a film featuring the renowned actor like Shabana Azmi), Film on Revival of Kali Bein and several other films. Besides screening of films, the event will also include a Workshop on Mobile Journalism to build capacity of students for making short films to reflect positive actions for environment improvement as well as Panel Discussion Session on Education for Sustainable Development.
The three-day festival, complementing the ongoing “Bharat ka Amrit Mahotsav” and “India’s G20 Presidency” celebrations, will be inaugurated by Dr.Jatinder Kaur Arora, Executive Director of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology in the presence of Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Dr.Devinder Singh other dignitaries. Dr. Arora gave insights to India’s Nationally Determined Contributions towards Climate Change and emphasized on the need for putting forward and propagating sustainable ways of living.
This one-of-a-kind Film Festival & Forum on LiFE is being attended by large number of students from Chandigarh University and adjoining Institutions.
