2nd Gatka Cup 2018 competitions held in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 29, 2018: Replete with an array of unlimited exciting events of martial arts, to update the young generations and to preserve the heritage art – Gatka – Punjabi Jagran organized 2nd Gatka Cup 2018 competitions in Ferozepur at Harmony Ayurvedic Medical College.
Kamal Sharma, former BJP Punjab President and National Executive Committee Member, after witnessing the Gatka events said, the culture of Punjab is very rich and to preserve the rich heritage safe is the prime duty of Punjabis. The Gatka event organized in Ferozepur deserves all outstanding appreciations and its participants as well.
Exhorting a special honour to the girls' participation in Gatka competitions, Sharma said, in the current era, girls have excelled almost in every field and in the same way, girls can make themselves capable for self-defence.
Sharma shared that the moment the martial arts comes to one’s mind, Baba Pokhar ji remembered as he played a vital role in preserving this art.
