17 years on, 618 Health Pharmacy Officers expects high hope for regularization from AAP government
Ferozepur, January 30, 2023: More than 600 Health Pharmacy Officers in the age group of 35-50 years, working in Health Department for the last 17 years, shifted from Zira Parishad cadre, presently working on wages of Rs.11,000 per month since three years are waiting for regularization of their services, to become at par with other colleges in the government over their long pending demand of ‘Equal Work Equal Pay’.
Health Pharmacy Officer Punjab State President Hanu Tiwari said that on January 25, hundreds of pharmacy officers and rank 4 colleagues of Punjab had come to protest in the form of a rally at the Sangrur residence of the Chief Minister of Punjab. However, with the intervention of Sangrur district administration, a meeting with the Chief Minister has been scheduled for February 15.
Giving a clear call, Hanu Tiwari said in case there is no positive response from the scheduled meeting, all the 618 pharmacy officers of Punjab will be forced to hand over the keys of the Aam Aadmi Clinic where they are now serving.
He added that these pharmacy officers have been performing all kinds of services for the past 17 years, in which frontline services are prominent during the Corona epidemic, and they are getting very low fixed salaries but giving services for the past few years without any kind of salary increase.
Hanu Tiwari said that many of our pharmacy officers have fallen victim to Corona while serving in Corona, but we do not have any kind of health insurance and their families are living in a very bad situation. He said, the government cannot run its dream project of Aam Aadmi Clinic without pharmacy officers.
Expressing hope from the AAP government, making an appeal , he said, the government to take a positive decision at the earliest keeping in view the plight of this cadre and their families in the absence of no increase in their wages despite having 17 years’ service and now in the age group of 35-50 years, when their counterparts are enjoying.
