13.030 kg heroin worth Rs.65 crore seized from near Zero Line of Punjab Border
Ferozepur, May 23, 2021: The Ferozepur police claimed to have recovered 13 kg 30 gm heroin, from near Zero Line of Punjab border.
Divulging with the details, SSP Bhagirath S.Meena said, on a tip-off, the police team nabbed Harpal Singh of village Gandhu Kilcha from near bus stand village Karma while coming on a motorcycle. On search, 180 gm heroin was recovered from his possession.
He said, a case under NDPS Act was registered at Mamdot police station on May 18 and during the investigation, the police team under the supervision of Rattan Singh Brar, SP(I) along with BSF in joint operation across the fencing near Indo-Pak zero line, near gate number 179, burji number 179/2S, Chowki Basti Ram Lal on the Indian side 12.850 kg heroin was recovered at the designated spot revealed packed in plastic bag, which has international value of Rs.65 crore.
He further said, during the investigation, it has come on surface that Harpal Singh is involved in the drug trade. More clues are likely to come on surface during further inquiry on getting five day’s police remand.
