Ferozepur, October 15, 2024 — Kartar Singh, a proud voter from Bazidpur village, cast his ballot today in the Panchayat Elections at over 100 years of age. Kartar expressed his joy and pride after exercising his right to vote, setting an example for the younger generations.
As of the latest reports, an average voter turnout of 25.15% across the six blocks of Ferozepur district has been recorded. Here’s a block-wise breakdown of the voting percentages:
- Guruharsahai: 28%
- Mamdot: 25.34%
- Ferozepur: 18%
- Ghall Khurd: 25%
- Makhu: 31.18%
- Zira: 23.43%
The district is conducting elections in 835 panchayats across these six blocks, with a total of 510 polling booths set up in 441 panchayats. Notably, elections are not taking place in 394 panchayats, which were set to use 412 booths.
