Zira Protests: 48 protesters released late night
Ferozepur, December 2, 2022: With refusal of the protesters to associate with the committees visited Mansurwala (Zira) on Saturday, and bowing before the agitation by Sanjha Morcha at Zira, all the 48 protesters arrested three days ago have been granted bail by the Court.
The police had reportedly approached the Court that the arrested protesters were no longer required for investigation.
The protest by the Sanjha Morcha is still continuing in front of the Malbros Liquory Factory at Zira. Sanjha Morcha in its social media group is very active and had made in appeal to the NRIs settled abroad to arrange similar protests, for the closure of the liquor unit and ethanol plant at Mansurwala village in Zira.
It is expected that the representatives of Sanjha Morcha will now join the Committees to proceed further for the investigation process, set up as per the directions Chief Minister, Punjab Bhagwan Mann.
On airing of news of release of protesters, hundreds of members of various farm unions gathered outside the jail to welcome them.
