Week long Kargil Victory Day Celebration culminates at Hussainiwala
Hussainiwala, July 28, 2019: (Harish Monga) : Kargil Victory Day Celebrations were held at Joint Check Post (JCP) Hussainiwala on the concluding day of a week long series of programme on Saturday.
Sector HQ BSF Ferozepur organized ‘Kargil Victory Day’ Celebration on its 20th anniversary with effect from 22nd to 27th July. The aim of these celebration progrmme is to propagate the victory of our forces in Kargil war fought in 1999.
During this week, a series of progamme were held which include – Blood Donation Camp, 5 Kms Mini Marathon, Showing 07 minutes movie on Kargil War/BSF documentary, lecture on motivation, plantation, paining/drawing and debated competition of bordering/KVs/BSF/Pvt Schools etc had been conducted at various levels of BSF i.e. Frontier HQ Punjab, Sectors, Units and upto BOP level. Civil population, civil society, various educational institutes (Genesis Medical College, SBS Technical college, Dass and Brown School, Jogindra Convent School, Ferozepur Sports Authority, SBI Ferozeur and BSF troops participated in these programmes.
In the series of the progrmme, on Friday, Mini Marathon of 5 kms – Run for Martyrs – staring from Bereke More and culminating at Shan-E-Hind gate at JCP Hussainiwala, under the tutelage of Sandeep Channan, DIG, SHQ, BSF, Ferozepur in which officers and troops of SHQ, BSF Ferozepur and under command Units, officials of SBI Ferozepur, students of various colleges and border population participated with great enthusiasm.
All the winners in various events were felicitated by Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
This evening, the BSF personnel honoured to have the next of kin of our martyrs – Smt.Shakuntala wife of late Satpal, DC(PMG), Puran Singh father of late Ct Jatinder Singh, Smt Rashpal Kaur wife of Late Ct Santosh Singh and facilitated them on this auspicious occasion.
Saplings were also planted on this occasion at the Joint Check Post Hussainiwala. On the spot painting by two students of Dass and Brown symbolic to Kargil War got huge applause from the audience.
