Vigilant jail staff recovers 20 banned items sachets from Jail inmates
Ferozepur, June 26, 2021: The vigilant jail staff recovered, as many as 20 packets of banned item of ‘zarda’ – intoxicant substance –from the jail inmates in a khakhi colour bottle covered with tape.
As per the details, on Friday, during the checking at around 11 am, when Virpal Singh and Mohinder Singh inmates were working in the garden and brought a green fodder bundle, a bottle which was wrapped with khakhi colour tape was found conaiing 20 packets of ‘zarda’ tobacco. On asking they said, these are of Jaita Ram inmate.
Three inmates – Virpal Singh, Mohinder Singh and Jaita Ram have been booke under Prisons Act on the complaint of Karamjit Singh Assistant Superintendent Jail and Roshan Lal has been appointed as IO. Further investigations are on.
