Undertrial prisoner adopts new tech to flush out smuggled mobile at Central Jail Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 7, 2023: It looks that jail officials are helpless in stopping smuggling in of mobile for its usage with vested interests to coordinate hits on the outside. During the recent checking at Central Jail, one under trial prisoner has adopted the new technique by flushing the smuggled mobile down the toilet. Now what worries the authorities is the ingenuity of the culprit, when the mobile has been flushed down the toilet on seeing the checking team. This new technique will be a new problem as throwing the mobile in the toilet renders the cell phone useless, even if taken out to get the details from the damaged SIM.
With the recovery of mobiles, the most wanted banned item, inside the jail, to run the legal and illegal affairs, to stay connected with the families, friends and out world, have while exposed the security arrangements at the entry points, it has also posed a threat when threatening calls from inside the jails, videos are viral on the social media. As per the information, so far, more than 260 mobiles have been recovered by the alert jail staff during various search operations, during the current year.
Despite strict rules and regulations and repeated checks, the recovery of mobiles has become a regular feature at the Central Jail.
In a bizarre incident, the under trial prisoner Arun Kumar alias Anu of Kapurthala presently lodged in the Central Jail, Ferozepour, during the sudden checking by Rishavpal Goyal Assistant Superintendent along with his staff, broke the mobile on seeing the police party and flush it out.
Meanwhile, a case under Section 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered and further investigations are on with Gurmail Singh appointed as IO in this case.
