467 cases registered under NDPS Act during 2023, 575 accused arrested with huge recoveries
Ferozepur, September 30, 2023: Under NDPS Act 1985, the Ferozepur police have freezed illegal properties of 18 drug smugglers while the proceedings have also been initiated to attach the property of 11 more drug smugglers.
Divulging with details, SSP Deepak Hillori said, every possible effort is being made to curb the menace of drug trade going on in the district under the NDPS Act, by constituting the special teams who are working swiftly for action against the unscrupulous and anti-social elements.
In one such case, the property worth Rs.54,53,450 of Boota Singh of Pojo Ke Uttar under Mamdot police station, made by doing the banned drug substances, have been freezed, after orders by the copetent authority from Delhi. The said orders of freezing of property were pasted outside the house of Boota Singh by the DSP Rural and concerned SHO Mamdot.
Apart from this, during the year 2023, the property of Bhola Ram alias Babby of Guruharshai worth Rs.38,64,938, Vikram alias Vicky of Fatte Wala Hittar (Mamdot) worth Rs.77,59,592, Amrik of Palla Megha worth Rs.55,75,000 and Darbara Singh of Rukna Begu under Kulgarhi Police station worth Rs.1,68,05,000, under NDPS Act, raised during the business of banned drug material.
He said, in all, during the year 2023, the property worth Rs.3,94,57,980 have been freezed so far and these drug smugglers now cannot sell or transfer the illegal property to any person.
SSP said, the freezing order for another 18 drug smugglers have been prepared under Section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985 and sent to the competent authority at Delhi. Besides, we are working on to get the property of 11 more drug smugglers freezed.
He said, during the year 2023, as on date, 467 cases have been registered under NDPS Act, 575 accused have been arrested while the recovery of heroin is 62.402 kg, poppy husk 162.200 kg, opium 12.013 kg, tablets capsules 1,02,510, intoxicant powder 1.480 kg, bhang 47 kg and drug money of Rs.41,91,420.
