Under Meri Mitti Mera Desh campaign, tributes paid to freedom fighters of Ferozepur

Ferozepur, August 14, 2023: Under Meri Mitti Mera Desh campaign, tributes were paid to freedom fighters of Ferozepur besides planting saplings by Kulwant Singh, Joint Director, Local Government

“Meri Maati Mera Desh” envisions a unified celebration of India’s soil and valour, commemorating the nation’s journey of freedom and progress. By connecting with the land and honoring our heroes, this program will instill a sense of national pride and inspire future generations to protect India’s cherished heritage.

This campaign comprises many activities and ceremonies conducted across the country at Panchayat/Village, Block, Urban Local Body, State and National levels:

Speaking on the occasion, Kulwant Singh said, the Municipal Council Ferozepur has remembered the contribution of freedom fighters who participated in the freedom struggle of the country by conducting activities under Meri Mitti Mera Desh national campaign under the Amrit Mahautsav program of the Municipal Council Ferozepur.

He said, the milestones were laid by the Municipal Council Ferozepur in the memory of the martyrs and flowers of devotion were also placed. He told that the families of freedom fighters Channan Singh, Bagga Singh belonging to Ferozepur city, who participated in the freedom struggle, were also honoured. Apart from this, 75 saplings were also planted at different places, as a mark of remembrance of 75 years of India’s freedom.
