Two mobiles – most wanted banned facility – recovered from jail inmates
Ferozepur, June 12, 2020: The security arrangements at Ferozepur Central Jail has once again come under scanner with the recovery of two mobiles have been recovered from two prisoners on the second consecutive day, during the search operation.
Earlier on June 11, in two incidents of recovery of packet thrown from outside and mobile from the jail inmate have posed threat to security arrangements because due to proximity of roads and buildings, it was easy to throw items like mobile phones and drugs inside the jail.
Mobile is considered as the most wanted banned facility inside the jail to remain in touch especially by the criminals with their counterparts outside the jail. Around hundreds mobiles have been recovered from inside the jail during the various search operations. On various occasions the jail department has been exposed of their connivance, recently arrest of a Pharmacist caught with mobile and drugs in Ferozepur jail. The purpose of keeping the criminals separate from society is also lost with the frequent recovery of mobiles from the jail inmates.
Divulging more, Sharma Singh appointed as IO in this case said, a search operation was carried out and two mobiles of Oppo and Vivo brand touch screen with SIM cards were recovered from Gangster prisoner Bobby Malhotra alias Sagar and prisoner Kulwinder Singh.
He further said, a case under Section 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered at the police station on the complaint of Sukhwant Singh Asstt. Superintendent and further in-depth investigations are on to ascertain about the motive behind calling from inside the jail.
